who's who?
Andy – “I was born in Manchester some forty years ago and I regard myself as the quiet one of the band. The first instrument I played was the violin at age 8. By 1980 I had progressed to the guitar in order to form a punk rock band called Chronic. I moved to Cornwall in 1987 and played with Glass, a pub band. Then onto my years with psychedelic hippy punksters Moondragon / Lordryk for the next decade touring Europe. I have written and recorded loads of songs. It was in the year 2001 that I joined the shirts despite it being said that I have often turned up to gigs without one.
Favourite Colour: Blue

Band Differences: Monitor feedback…. “it adds to the ambience”.
Philip - "Having started my playing at the early age of 12 years supporting John Miles in the mid ‘70s, I went on to work with some of the country’s top producers recording singles with Steve Lillywhite (U2 & XTC) and Mike Vernon of Fleetwood Mac & David Bowie fame.
I then signed a major publishing deal with Zomba Music with a band called The Miracle Mile, who went on to work with Paul Schroder of Stone Roses & Talk Talk and also the legendary Brian “Chuck” New of Tina Turner & The Cure.
After 18 years of London, I then decided to opt for a quieter life in Cornwall.
the shirts were formed in 2001 which is when I met Andy and Mark. The rest, as they say, is a great laugh!"

Mark - "Born and brought up in the frozen North, I started my musical life at the age of 6 with singing parts in school plays and ‘cello lessons passing grades 1 through to 8 in ‘cello. I played in various orchestras, in my informative years, such as The National Youth Orchestra playing at venues including The Royal Albert Hall and studied O and A level music. At the age of 15 I got bitten by the bass guitar bug and went from vertical to horizontal plucking, playing with my brother in a punk band and writing most of our own material for Chronic and latterly The Rub. I played the drums and bass in various other bands before being followed by the bug to Cornwall in 1985 and subsequently playing / singing with groups including The BBC Radio Cornwall Show Band. Having joined the shirts at the end of 2001 I feel privileged to work with an incredible mixture of musical talents and personalities which create an unmistakably versatile and distinct play list whilst at the same time retaining the important element of fun!!!
